I Jinxed It...

...it rained! Oh well, the rain felt nice, falling on my face, after so much sun and heat.

Anyway, today was Bike to Work Day, so in honour of that fact I did indeed bike to work. I was filled with the best intentions when I left the house, but little did I know what would be instore for me:
  • After setting off to work on my bike, realising down the road that my dress had ridden right up. As such a lot more was on display than I would have liked.
  • Upon realising that I was displaying a bit too much (after a dodgy man leered at me) I tried to pull my dress down whilst cycling - this resulted in quite a precarious wobble and a near miss with a stationary car.
  • Despite wearing a high-visibility vest, a bus driver failed to see me, nearly knocked me off, and then tried to force me off the road.
  • Upon finally arriving in one piece (just) at work, I locked my bike up in the cycle store, and managed to bang my head on the overhead racks.
  • As a reward for my efforts in biking to work, I was given a free biker's breakfast. I went for an egg bap, only for yolk to drip all down me and my pesky dress, that I wished I hadn't worn in the first place.
  • On the ride home I was caught cycling on the pavement (but only because I was on a dangerous stretch of road).
I blame it all on the dress.

Perhaps I should have just stayed in bed today!

It's ok Adele - I saw the funny side of it all! And I think I did actually flash the world! I have cycled in a skirt before and it was fine, but the dress in question was silk, and just rode right up! xx
